One of our favorite ways to set the holiday vibe is crafting festive cocktails from the many great varieties of spirits and liquors available at our store. As mixed drink enthusiasts ourselves, we understand the statement and satisfaction in delivering a well crafted cocktail to a holiday party guest. It’s not just about the drink in hand, but the art of gifting someone a delicious and aesthetic libation that will help set the tone for the evening ahead.

Regardless if you’re hosting a get together, or just looking to have something delicious and festive to enjoy while decorating the Christmas tree, here are 3 holiday cocktails to get you fully in the spirit.

Cranberry Old Fashioned

A festive twist on a classic cocktail – this drink is both delicious and eye catching.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3  ounces quality bourbon whiskey
  • 1  ounce cranberry simple syrup
  • 3  shakes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish with orange peel, fresh cranberries, and rosemary

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a serving glass with ice, stir together
    the bourbon, cranberry simple syrup, and bitters.
  2. Garnish with orange peel, fresh
    cranberries, and rosemary.

Hot Toddy

This classic cozy drink is great to sip on chilly winter days and is sure to keep you warm this holiday season.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 1 oz. bourbon
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • cinnamon stick and lemon slice for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a teapot or small saucepan, bring water to simmer.
  2. In a mug combine bourbon, honey and lemon juice. Pour over hot water and stir to combine.
  3. Garnish with cinnamon stick and lemon slice.

Ginger Snap

Featuring rum and ginger beer this simple refreshing cocktail is the perfect signature cocktail for the holiday season.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 ounces Rum
  • 1/2 ounce ginger liqueur Domain de Canton
  • Juice of half a lime
  • Ginger beer
  • Lime wedges, to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fill a short tumbler or rocks glass with ice.
  2. Add rum, ginger simple syrup and lime juice, stirring to combine and chill.
  3. Top off with ginger beer (about 2 ounces), and stir to combine.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge.
