Local Company Spotlight: Modern Sushi

Here at Ken’s and Marketime, we are committed to highlighting and elevating great local products from companies and vendors deserving of the recognition. Modern Japanese Cuisine & Setsuko Pastry is about as hyper local as it gets. Located just north of Ken’s Market on Phinney Ave, it’s only a 10 minute walk away from our Greenwood store location.

This neighborhood gem has been around for almost 12 years, serving up fresh, high-quality sushi and comforting Japanese classics. The woman owned company has many standout items including Japanese curry, fresh onigiri, musubi, Takoyaki, matcha roll cake, green tea tiramisu & yuzu mochi.

Offering takeout and pickups, they are open every Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 – 2:30 PM and 4:30 – 8:00 PM.

Our stores get fresh products delivered from Modern Sushi three times per week on Wednesday, Friday & Sunday.

We stock ready to eat Spam Musubi in our deli case as well as our food warmer on delivery days for a yummy grab and go snacking option.

We have three varieties of Onigiri that we get delivered: Salmon, Tuna Mayo & Pickled Ume (plum).

The varieties of sushi we bring in from Modern are all crowd pleasers. California Rolls, Seattle Rolls, & Spicy Tuna Rolls all served with a side of pickled ginger and wasabi.
