Lá Liath is Irish for “gray day”. Bakery owner Marenka chose the name as an homage to Seattle’s usually dreary weather also in hopes that her pastries would be a bright spot against all the grey.
Ken’s Market is currently the only store where you can find Lá Liath’s delicious British Isle inspired baked goods. Offerings include the Bakewell tart with a flaky crust, raspberry jam and almond frangipane and melt in your mouth Russian tea cakes rolled in powder sugar and speckled with walnuts. We recommend trying these delicious confection with a cup of coffee or tea for a perfect fall treat.
